The Spek ™ Water Temperature controller gauges are all electric and microprocessor brushless stepper controllers. ProParts engineers added a built in programmable thermostat to control any temperature regulated devices from Radiator fans to transmission fans etc. You can program the High and Low temperature set points that you want the fan to activate and the Spek gauge will control your fan. The Fan turns ON when the High setting is reached and the fan will stay running until the temperature is lower to the desire Low release setting. At least 90 percent of all transmission failures are due to the oil getting to hot. The temperature switches from the factory doesn’t take into account added performance enhancement devices while pulling heavy loads such as boats, RV’s or racing. The Spek water temperature gauge was designed to override the factory switch to turn the fan On early to get ahead of the high building temperatures from hot summer days to steep hills. The patented Wide-Angle Dial design creates the largest viewing dial ever mounted on a standard 2 1/16” gauge. The high intensity LED technology light distribution is designed for day or night driving. Programmable faceplate illumination in choices of Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Yellow, Purple or White. Both the dial and pointer illumination are individually adjustable. Stepper motor movement is supplied for the accurate pointer reading of a 280 degree full sweep. Gauges are programmed through patented water resistant stainless steel sealed command keys located on the faceplate. No control boxes or hand-held remote control are needed. Peak playback value can be retrieved and displayed with illuminated high and low alert levels set points. Programmable outputs signal can activate 2 amp loads or communicate to other Spek gauges. Spek™ water temperature gauge come with a Plug and Play wiring harnesses. The temp sensor is a 1/8-27 NPT with a water resistant electrical connector. The Spek family of gauges can be used to control Fans, low and high oil pressure kill switches, RPM switches and Boost switches. All Spek gauges will flash if sensor input is lost. To operate a high current load such as a fan or valve you will need option # 14829 or # 14820 high current water resistant relay and wire harness.
